Overview: Partial Shipment From China To Singapore: Seventy 40’HQ Plastics Particles Xiamen-Quanzhou-Singapore

It’s a shipping case study about partial shipment from China to Singapore. Plastic particles are generally considered ordinary chemical goods, but due to their appearance and form, they are often treated as sensitive cargo. This is mainly because they pose potential environmental risks if spilled. Many shipping companies require verification of the cargo’s composition and images before accepting them. Additionally, a non-hazardous guarantee letter is often necessary to secure a booking, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations through specific packaging and handling procedures.

The Shipping Demand of Partial Shipment From China To Singapore

In December 2023, a plastic products company in Xiamen needed to export a batch of goods totaling 70 containers to Singapore in phases. The first 10 containers were urgent. Although the company had its own freight forwarding platform, it couldn’t handle this shipment due to its time-sensitive nature. The company eventually found us and entrusted us with solving the shipping issue.

Challenges and Solutions

Suggestions to the client

Through initial communication, we discovered that due to the urgent timing required for the 10 containers, Xiamen Port did not have suitable shipping schedules. By checking available information, we found that Quanzhou Port offered suitable schedules that could ensure timely delivery. Therefore, we suggested to the client that they use a short-distance land transport to export from Quanzhou Port to meet the deadline.

Shipping Process

Since the client had no prior experience exporting from Quanzhou Port and was initially using their own freight platform, there were some challenges in adapting to our processes and a degree of mistrust due to this being our first collaboration. There were also issues with pre-declaration of the goods. Although there were some conflicts in operational procedures, our team managed to handle everything smoothly through patient communication and professional, meticulous operations. We quickly completed booking, loading, VGM submission, customs clearance, and delivery, ensuring the goods were shipped on time and arrived at the destination port.

Following the successful handling of the first 10 containers, the client greatly increased their trust in us and recognized our professional capabilities. We worked closely together on the remaining 60 containers, completing the task more quickly and efficiently. As a result, we established a long-term cooperative relationship, achieving a win-win outcome.

That’s the shipping case of partial shipment from China to Singapore happened in December 2023.
